Behind the wheel of an SMC Heavy Haulage prime mover is a highly experienced uniformed heavy haulage operator.

Our operators are all certified in Fatigue Management and Maintenance in compliance with Certificate III in Driving Operations (Heavy General Freight) + Certification of Work Safely In The Construction Industry (White Card) + (Blue Cards) and current and regular Police Certificate checks + MSIC, which is a nationally consistent identification card, issued to identify a person who has been the subject of a background check. It shows that the holder has met the minimum security requirements and needs to work unescorted or unmonitored in a maritime security zone.

We are proudly decorated with numerous industry accreditations and are regularly audited to ensure we are maintaining accreditation requirements.

Our accreditations include:

NHVR – National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (previously National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme): We ensure that our vehicles are regularly maintained. This accreditation systemises and documents our maintenance schedules in order to comply with the National Standard.

Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Accreditation: Our loads to and from Western Australia are over-mass, oversize and/or over-height. This accreditation also requires us to make sure our drivers have a current medical and have been trained to be aware of the symptoms of fatigue and what they should be doing to prevent fatigue. It also covers vehicle maintenance requirements similar to the above NHVAS accreditation but for Western Australia.
